Tenuta Cantagallo E Le Farnete

Cantagallo estate belongs to our family since 1970 and extends for 500 acres in the heart of Montalbano, green hilly area between Florence and Pisa, while Le Farnete estate is located in Carmignano. Both our estates are located in great historical areas with a high wine-making culture, in accordance with the law written by Cosimo de’ Medici in 1716, which is the first law issued to protect high quality wine-growing areas. This location corresponds to our choice to aim at a continuous improvement of the quality of our wines, so our philosophy of production can be summed up in a phrase: “one bottle of wine per each vine”.
In our family-run estates we produce sauces and food products preserved in oil using our vegetables and reviving local recipes. According to the tradition of Tuscan farmers, we grow our own vegetables in small plots, which border on olive groves, vineyards and sources of irrigation.
All the members of the family are linked by their respect for the country tradition. They work and live in Cantagallo estate and are glad to welcome their guests in a recently restored farmhouse.
Our estates are located on a panoramic hill and are surrounded by the luxuriant woods of Montalbano, by olive groves and by rows of vines, which open out in slopes without wood. The landscape seems a Renaissance painting and has changed over the centuries because of the work of men.
Montalbano is a area very rich for its craft tradition which developed in the Middle Ages and still today is handed down by craftsmen. It is also a “natural” area full of history. It is ideal for art lovers, for those who love to visit small towns looking for the roots of folklore and of gastronomic traditions, and for those who enjoy walking.
