Domaine Frederic Bourillon

Winery Domaine Bourillon Dorleans, founded in 1921 by Gaston Dorleans, today occupies 26 hectares of vineyards located on the best slopes
Roshcorbon. For three generations, family members have strived to preserve the traditional spirit and quality of Vouvray wines with a strong personality. The terroir of Rochecorbon has a clay-siliceous soil composition, and the most common.
The grape variety here is Chenin Blanc. The main vineyards are located on the Rochecorbon plateau. There is also an old lighthouse, the main purpose of which was to warn against attacks by invaders moving up the Loire. Frédéric, the grandson of Gaston Dorléans, is now the manager of the winery and is engaged in ‘lutte raisonée’ (minimum intervention viticulture). wine aging takes place under ideal conditions in a 15th-century cellar carved into ancient rock at a depth of 900 m. Such cellars are typical of Vouvray: they were arranged in quarries, where limestone was mined for the construction of the famous castles of the Loire. Most of the vineyards occupy one plot surrounding the Château de Montgouvern, a beautiful 18th century mansion. Not so long ago the winery was reconstructed. There were vats and fermenters made of stainless steel, equipped with temperature regulators.
