Felsina

This gorgeous estate with the ancient name Felsina - a name reaching back to Etruscan times, founded in 1966 by Domenico Poggliani. That enigmatic race that first offered the vine and the olive to the early civilization of the Italic peninsula. Located in the southern segment Felsina Berardenga winery sits on the southern most border of Chianti Classico near Castelnuovo, closer to Siena rather than Florence if you are mentally looking at a map of Tuscany. Felsina focuses on Chianti Classico and the grape of native Tuscany the Sangiovese, Felsina's range of Classicos and Super Tuscans reads like the region's honor roll. In fact, it was awarded Gambero Rosso’s maximum score of Three Glasses 17 times in 17 issues of the famous publication and it would be very hard to find a better Chianti Classico or Sangiovese than what Felsina makes. Robert Parker calls Felsina as "bright star of Tuscany. And Chianti Berardenga is just one Chianti, which Decanter includes to the number of the best worldwide wines.
